Bergen Volunteers
Neighbors helping neighbors across Bergen County since 1966, and a major sponsor of Vantage Point.
Vantage Point is made possible by partners who believe what we believe: that clear thinking is a public good. Few organizations put that belief to work as literally as Bergen Volunteers.
For six decades, from its home in Paramus, New Jersey, Bergen Volunteers has organized neighbors to serve neighbors across 70 towns and communities in Bergen County. Its mission is stated plainly, the way we like things stated on this show: provide human service and training programs to improve lives and strengthen communities. Behind that one sentence sits a portfolio of programs that positively impacts some 8,000 lives every year.
That range is the point. Bergen Volunteers helps seniors stay safe and independent in their own homes, pairs mentors and reading volunteers with young people who need them, prepares taxes for working families at no charge, and trains the county’s next generation of civic leaders. Different programs, one idea: see a need clearly, weigh what you can do about it, and then do it. Listeners of this show will recognize that as critical thinking with its sleeves rolled up.
We are proud to have Bergen Volunteers behind Vantage Point in its 60th anniversary year, and prouder still to point you toward them.
